We gave the 2009-10 Miami Heat Dancers a ton of love in our NBA dance team rankings earlier this year based a lot on their history and now that pictures are finally starting to come out, we were spot on. And more recently, they unveiled their season poster which included quite the party and a little catwalk action.
Here are some of the pictures that made up their newest poster...
Watch this and tell me what the hell Cristi is doing in the background. She would be the blonde that's actually dressed out in her dancer outfit for the night. You...go...girl.
Nobody appreciates NBA dancer boy shorts quite like we do. Proof of that statement here and again here. And "your" Blazer Dancers refused to disappoint us this year with a couple new versions of our favorite male inspired bottom. (Yeah, that sounded odd. Ignore that sentence.)
“The Miss USA pageant, in my opinion, is about your personality, your success, the way you carry yourself, your poise, your ethics and pretty much everything about you being an all-around driven, classy and confident young woman,” Bell said. “I decided I wanted to try that before I stepped into a career and go full-force with it.”
And on to what you all really care about, pictures!
Now if only these ladies had dropped these outfits before we released our NBA Dancer Rankings, they might have cracked the top 5. Especially with Ms. Ashley up above. Anyone else speechless? Someone give her an award for...well anything.
The Blazer Dancers, as they do every year, dropped some fantastic new outfits that have the boys' hearts pumpin'. In fact, these new outfits are so on point, that I'm really starting to regret the ranking I gave them just a week or so ago.
For those of you not able to catch a game in person, here is a glimpse at what I'm talking about...
On another note, there are zero pictures of these silver boy shorts or the new black shorts outfits anywhere. If someone brings me some in decent quality, I'll buy you a Blazers t-shirt/hat/trinket, you name it(hah trinket). Seriously.
Damn. That's all I have to say after seeing this video of Blazer Dancer Melissa rolling up in her brand new Ford Fusion. I'm still deciding if I believe that Ford actually gave this to her or if it is a part of her job as a Blazer Dancer. As you'll see from her Ford Dancer Tour, she was set up to promote the Fusion. Either way, it sure pays to be a BD.
And if they did give her a new ride for promoting the Ford, I feel bad for Cristi, who got stuck with the Ford Focus while the other girls landed a Ford Edge and a big ol' Truck.
In a recent trip to China and Taiwan, the Denver Nuggets Dancers put on a little show during exhibitions featuring their Nuggets, the Indiana Pacers, and the Utah Jazz. And look, even Larry Bird approves! Of course, we are having trouble acknowledging the hotness since we NBA bloggers adhere to all fashion rules and understand that you just don't wear white after Labor Day. Come on girlfriends...
Enough with the preseason player and team rankings! It's time to begin our 2009-10 coverage of every man's fan's favorite aspect to the NBA, the dance teams.
Came across this fantastic photo which includes 3 of my favorite things: basketball, Blazers and dance teams. Can somebody sign me up for the next Adidas basketball camp?
Notice that Brook Lopez is actually watching the shot while Bayless is...well.
In order to prove that our love of NBA dance teams spreads beyond that of just the Blazer Dancers, we bring you the 2009-10 Denver Nuggets Dance Team. We covered plenty of their antics last year and will formally guarantee to continue that as we more than approve of this year's selections.
The ladies were fortunate enough to join the Nuggets on their trip to Taipei for a couple of exhibitions this week. It looks like the Great Wall and role playing were involved. Please enjoy...
And just in case you needed more coverage, a couple of these lovely ladies appear regularly on a Denver radio station which you can check out here. (Includes videos. Go now.)
Aside from the slew of Blazers playing in the 2009 FIBA Eurobasket tourney, we kept looking for some other reason to pay attention to any of it. Well, we've found it and it's a hell of a lot more obvious than we had imagined. The cheerleaders of course! And I'd guess they are taking a little page out of the Heat dance team's book. No matter what, we approve. Say hello to the "Red Foxes" or better yet, the Ukrainian dance team.
Please welcome your 2009-10 Blazer Dancers squad (sans Melissa)! No idea why she always seems to be absent from these events, but the squad still looks fantastic even without her. Am I counting 7 new girls to this year's group?

Nice to see that our beloved Blazer Dancers also get some work in the off-season. They headed to China to see the sights, perform a little, and even pose with...Jordan Farmar? I'm sure there is some Portland city ordinance that forbids anyone from posing with and Lakers players plus their Championship trophy. Nice one!
This Portland Trail Blazers blog definitely isn't your basic "recap/report the news" kind of blog. We tend to lean a little to the sporadic and unsystematic side of this young and sexy basketball team. Oh, and you'll definitely see a lot of Blazer Dancer action around here, so bring your bucket of ice.
